Our Pastor — Rev. Paul Willweber
Pastor Willweber was born on February 24, 1968 in Mission Hills, CA. On March 24, 1968 he was baptized into the Christian faith at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church in Mission Hills. He grew up in nearby Granada Hills, a community of Los Angeles. He graduated from Concordia College in Seward, NE in 1991 with a degree in Communication. He then received a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1995 and was ordained into the ministry on July 2, 1995. His first call was as assistant pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa, TX. In 1998 he was called to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in San Diego, where he continues to serve as pastor.
In 1996 he married Sara Dodge, who is from Huntington Beach, CA. God has blessed them with four children. Their oldest son, Ryan, was called to his eternal home in heaven when he was 17, when he died in a car accident on April 30, 2015. Cory is attending Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN in order to become a pastor. Katy is a middle school math teacher at a Lutheran school in Arizona. Sean recently graduated from college.
Pastor and his family love traveling and being with family and friends. He particularly enjoys theology, music, reading, movies, TV, language, and sports. He is a life-long Laker fan and a die-hard Padre fan.
