Worship

Worship is each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. This is the chief service of the Church in which we gather around the Word and the Sacraments. Lutherans have traditionally called this chief service the Divine Service, which incorporates both that God (Divine) serves (Service) us with His gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation and that in response we serve (Service) Him (Divine) with our thanks, praise, and prayer.

On the first, second, and fifth Sundays of the month as well as during Advent, Lent, and major festivals we follow the order of service of Divine Service, Setting Three in the Lutheran Service Book. On the third and fourth Sundays of the month we follow the order of Divine Service, Setting One in the Lutheran Service Book.

We celebrate Holy Communion each Sunday and ask our guests to read our statement regarding receiving Communion:

Following Jesus’ command, we celebrate Holy Communion, which Jesus gives us to eat and drink His true body and blood in and with bread and wine (Matthew 26:26–28). Prince of Peace follows the practice of the historic Christian Church of instructing its members in the Christian faith through the process known as Confirmation. Upon completion of the process they are confirmed in the Christian faith and then partake of Holy Communion. If you are not a member of a congregation either of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod or those in altar and pulpit fellowship we ask you to please refrain from communing. You may remain seated or you are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing. If you have questions about our practice, or would like to learn more about our church, please speak to our pastor.

We also observe Matins each Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. which is a brief order of worship.
